Things I've done today...

Setting up a KM discussion Group

This morning, six of us (me, Clemantinath, Ida, Abang Othman, Kak Ilah & Intan) had our 1st meeting to setup a Knowledge Management discussion group. It was initiated by Clemantinath (she's Nigerian but already a PR in UK)...she's the one who threw the idea of setting up the group since there are numbers of PhD students in the School of Built Environment and school of Business currently doing research on knowledge management area. For me, it's really a good idea.....we can share ideas, knowledge and experiences and even share some common literature on generic knowledge management. And of course the main purpose is to make sure that I'm not going to do research that is 'syok sendiri'.....nk jugak tahu apa yg orang lain tahu.....

So, at the moment we agreed that this group will be conducted informal....but we try to get support from the supervisors and also other staffs. Meetings will be held on the last friday of each month and it will takes about 2 hours which the agenda might involve discussion on various topics/ articles related to knowledge management, presentation of research progress by each member, inviting guest speakers i.e. experts on KM, sharing ideas on current issues etc....ish..macam ye, ye aje...insyaAllah...

Academic writing for PhD students

In the afternoon, I attended a SPoRT training session on the above topic. It was a very good session since it helps alot on writing strategies, academic phrasebank, academic word list, and also get several useful resources/ links related to academic writing.
