Meeting on the collaboration between UiTM-CIDB-Salford University

Researchers : Anis Sazira, Norbaya, Ida Nianti, Mohd Rofdzi, Hairul Nizam, Mohd Fadhil & Kamarul Anuar.

Agenda :

1. UiTM & CIDB gave some briefing and update on the implementation of this collaboration.

2. Researchers had briefly explained their research topics and try to make sure that it align with the Construction Industry Master Plan (CIMP) 2006-2015...CIDB encourage all topics to be related specifically to Industrialised Building System (IBS) issues if possible.

3. They explained the roles of each organisations in the collaboration.

4. The expectation that the researchers will present their PhD research findings during the CIMP seminars/ conferences.

5. The cost implication involved under this collaboration.

6. Other relevant support for all the research from CIDB and UiTM.

7. Project monitoring.

8. Discussion on any problems involved.

9. Other relevant issues.

It seems that there were some YES and NO from the researchers especially on the research topics. Some topics are very much related dan falls under the needs of the CIMP in general and IBS in specific. Some still have a chance to try to find some aspect of IBS to be included in their research,...but some have problems to relate their initial proposed topics to either CIMP strategic thrusts or IBS issues.

The conclusion : All researchers need to discuss further with their supervisors.

The meeting end up with a buffet lunch at Safron....mmmmm....yummy.
