I've registered as a PhD student at the University of Salford, Manchester on 7th January 2008. My research area is Knowledge Management. I am under the supervision of Dr. Bingunath Ingirige from the School of Built & Human Environment. As for now, I feel comfortable discussing my PhD works with him....I think he is good at giving advices and guidance. We agreed to have regular meetings at every 2 weeks. I need to submit an essay or a paper on literature review for each topics that I have read. He gave his very best comments on every task submitted.
My initial research topic is Critical Success Factors for Knowledge Management implementation for construction organisations in Malaysia. Since I'm in the stage of literature review, I have to read several identified topics...knowledge, knowledge management (KM) in general, KM for construction industry, organisational learning, intellectual capital, critical success factors (CSFs) in general, overview of construction industry, CSFs for construction and CSFs for knowledge management. This is very important to find the gap for the research.
Based from Dr. Bingu comments on the tasks I've submitted, he said that I have to improve my critical reading and writing. Alamak...I know that it is my major weakness. I need to develop the skills of being critical in my thinking, reading & writing.
